Carolina Bird Club Website. This is an organization for North and South Carolina birders. The site includes information about organized birding trips, unusual sightings, and more. 

Carteret County Wildlife Club. This group schedules canoe trips, hiking, birding, and nature trips.

Croatan National Forest Trails. Here is a map of the 22-mile Neusiok hiking trail and access points.

FAVORITE LOCAL BIRDING HOTSPOTS

Rachel Carson Reserve. Here is the bird checklist for the Reserve. Access by boat only.

North River Wetlands Preserve. Includes 8 miles of trails, but requires permission.

 Duke Marine Laboratory Living Seashore. This area and nearby marsh are habitat for shorebirds.

Radio Island Beach Access. Beach and trails are great for birding.
